NCRPO to ‘double’ effort vs indiscriminate New Year’s gunfire

MANILA, Dec 26 (Mabuhay) — National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde on Monday vowed that there would be significant police visibility during New Year’s celebration to ensure public safety.

“We will continue intensify police visibility especially this coming New Year celebration,” Albayalde said in a news release. “We will even double our effort to maintain peace and order as we also aim for zero-indiscriminate firing. This is a no-no for our personnel, anyone who violates will be dealt with accordingly.”

The NCRPO chief also urged the public to celebrate the New Year in a peaceful way.

“Let us make sure no child will lose a finger. This season is suppose to be for them to enjoy,” Albayalde added.

He also thanked the public for their cooperation in the government’s campaign against firecrackers, while also pointing to the cooperation of local government units in the peace and order effort during the holiday season.

Meanwhile, Albayalde also hailed his police officers for “securing and ensuring a peaceful and joyful celebration of Christmas.” (MNS)
