MANILA, Mar 15 (Mabuhay) — Jessy Mendiola has addressed speculations that she is now in a relationship with her “You’re My Home” leading man, JC de Vera.
Many people are wondering if the two are already a couple since both of them are single and they appear to be closer to each other now.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Mendiola straightforwardly said: “Hindi po kami, para diretso na.”
De Vera, however, maintained that they are very comfortable with each other since they get to spend a lot of time together on the set.
“Bitin kami actually sa ‘You’re My Home’ kasi half nung story, hindi naman talaga magkalapit sila Grace and Christian. Towards the end, doon lang talaga kami naging close, naging komportable. Tapos ngayon patapos na ;yung ‘You’re My Home,’” he said.
De Vera said it’s a good thing they will still see each other even after the TV series because they are both part of the ABS-CBN gag show “Banana Sundae.”
The actor said he never expected that he and Mendiola will click because “You’re My Home” is their first project together.
“Yung samahan namin ni Jessy talaga is also a surprise. No one expected na magiging comfortable kami sa isa’t isa. Kaya maganda siguro ‘yung samahan namin kasi we both really wanted to work hard and she’s also willing to work hard. Tingin ko pareho kami ng nasa isip,” he said.
When asked if de Vera has helped her move on from the controversies she got embroiled in last year, Mendiola said: “Malaking tulong po ‘yung soap na ito. After nung mga pinagdaanan ko late last year, binuhos ko lahat ng emosyon ko at isip ko sa trabaho.”
That’s why the two are now dealing with mixed emotions now that “You’re My Home” is down to its last two weeks.
“Totoo nagkaka-sepanx (separation anxiety) kami kasi parang habit na siya, para siyang vice na biglang tinanggal, parang ganoon yung feeling na hinahanap-hanap ko pa din ‘yung taping, yung eksena ni Grace and Christian,” Mendiola said.
Despite this, the actress said she and de Vera are just grateful that Kapamilya viewers warmly welcomed their team-up.
“Dahil sa sobrang unexpected po ‘yung warm na pagtanggap ng mga fans, mas ginaganahan po ako magtrabaho, mag-post kasi nakakatuwa, magpakilig. Nakakatuwa makita yung mga tao na nag-e-enjoy sila panoorin yung pinaghihirapan niyo,” she said.
Both are hoping to have a follow up project after “You’re My Home,” which will air its finale on March 23.(MNS)
