MANILA, July 24 (Mabuhay) — For years, fans of Vhong Navarro have been tuning in religiously to “It’s Showtime” for their daily dose of feel-good laughter –a pick-me-upper to get them through the rest of the day.
The TV host and comedian opened up about who he turns to when he’s the one that needed uplifting or, to be more precise, when his father died.
He explained that God gave him the strength to get over the tough times when his dad, Danilo, passed away this January.
This newfound faith helped him move forward, which led to him working on his forthcoming comedy flick, “Unli Life,” about a man who can travel back in time by drinking whiskey.
His new movie leaves him with a bittersweet feeling, he said, because it also reminds him that his father will no longer be at the premiere to give him the confidence he needs in his craft.
He called his dad his “No. 1 fan,” recalling how he would always tell him how much he loved his movies.
“Unli Life” is part of this year’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino along with cast members Megan Young, Winwyn Marquez, Joey Marquez, Donna Cariaga and Ejay Falcon, among others. (MNS)
