Actress-singer Bea Binene has come to learn a few things following the end of her relationship with boyfriend of almost three years, Jake Vargas. Chief among them is acceptance.
“Lahat naman ng (breakup) masakit. You just need to learn to accept it,” she said in a recent interview.
The issue about their breakup surfaced in the past weeks, with hints of a tiff between the two.
Bea admitted taking her sweet time before confirming the breakup leading up to the promotions for their movie “Liwanag Sa Dilim,” which was shown last month.
“Ayoko kasi na sabihin ng mga tao na, ‘Ay may movie ’yan,’ or ‘Pino-promote nila ’yung show nila kaya nag-break.’ Hindi kasi ganu’n. Nag-break kami kasi may dahilan,” she explained, without giving further details.
Rather than entertain questions and respond to queries about reconciliation, she simply said, “Ine-enjoy na lang muna namin ang sari-sarili naming buhay. Kasi gusto ko rin mag-grow.”
Bea is keeping herself busy with school. “Actually incoming fourth year high school pa lang ako. Pero tinutulungan ako ng school ko na matapos ’yung curriculum ko by summer para next school year college na ako,” she said.
While every girl fantasizes about having a grand debut party, Bea hopes to travel abroad for her 18th birthday in November.
Her management GMA Artist Center, however, already has grand plans for her big day.
“Kahit malayo pa parang may hinahanda na sila (for me). Kumbaga sila ’yung may full control.”
She added with a smile, “Biniro ko nga sila baka pwedeng ibigay niyo na lang sa’kin ’yung (budget) at magta-travel na lang ako or bibili ng bag. Sabi nila hindi pwede.”
Known for playing what she deems “kikay” roles, Bea is now raring to do mature roles. But it doesn’t mean doing kissing scenes.
She explained, “Siguro, more on sa atake ng bawat roles na ibinibigay sa’yo. It’s the way you handle things. It’s not like, kapag nag-kissing scene ka na, mature ka na.” (MNS)
